WHY HE WROTE THE BOOK

I walked out of my house with the idea of getting exercise. Then the notion crossed my mind to keep walking completely around the world. I returned home thinking that was a very bad idea because among other reasons, it would just take too long.

I’ve come to realize in writing a book, my initial idea was a shorter exercise.

The myth of the self-made man is similar to the idea that authoring a book is a solo task. If the truth be told, authoring is more like editing a life of influences, all taken together, incline this author’s final product with enormous humble gratitude.

For reasons that became increasingly obvious in the exercise of writing this book, I am extremely indebted to my clients, who for over 40 years taught me more than they realized during each visit. I’d like now to thank each of you personally by name, but like most of my bad ideas, that would just take too long.

Additionally, I dedicate this book to my stewards of substance. Thank you for keeping my pencil sharp:

• The Lawyer

• The Actor

• The Composer
